Making Choices
|
Today we'll be learning about using money wisely. Think about times you've been given money as a gift and could decide how you wanted to spend it or if you wanted to save it.
Start out by watching this video from the book Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday by Judith Viorst. Alexander was given some money. Watch to see if he spent it wisely or not. |
Did Alexander make good choices? I think we can agree that he didn't.
Your job now is to write a friendly letter to Alexander giving him advice on what he can do the next time he has money so that he doesn't spend it unwisely again. Your letter should include tips on how to save, at least some of his money, for something he really cares about like the walkie talkie. You might want to explain wants and needs to him. Open Microsoft Office Word. Click on your Start button and look in your menu first. If you don't see it there, choose All Programs and look for Microsoft Office - Microsoft Word. Click it and choose a blank document. Choose a 14 size font. Leave it black. You can change the font style to something that is easy to read AFTER you have finished typing. |
