You've been learning a lot about our great state and are going to create an ABC book about North Carolina to share some of the interesting things you discover. This book will be an ongoing project that we will add to over the next 3 quarters. You may choose to work in a group of 4 at your table or split into 2 groups of 2. Think about the pros and cons of each way. It's your table's decision.
Read to find out what is expected of you. There are also 2 examples to give you some ideas of how you may want to organize the information on your pages. Get ready to have fun exploring and sharing.
Your book will be put together in PowerPoint and will include:
* a cover - the cover must have a title, an image and your first names only
* 26 additional pages: one for each letter of the alphabet. Each page should include at least one word that begins with or contains that letter of the alphabet, one paragraph telling about that word (at least 3 good sentences long) and one illustration/image to go with that word. Example: Page 1 could be A is for Appalachian Mountains. The information on the page could be about the location, history, or things to do in the Appalachian Mountains. Your picture could show a view of this mountain range.
* The following letters and terms will be the same for everyone:
C is for Coastal Plain
J is for Judicial
L is for Legislative
M is for Mountain
P is for Piedmont
X is for Executive

When you are finished with your PowerPoint, make sure you go back and proofread all your slides. Check for capitalization, punctuation, spelling and layout. Did you do your best job? Are you proud of your work? Have someone in your group proofread. We will then merge all the slides together to make one book for your group that you will share together to learn about all the terms.
