Our Amazing Human Body
Our body systems are truly amazing! As you embark on a study of 6 of them in your classroom, we will be creating a great review for you to use in Discovery Education's BoardBuilder. You are going to include information and media for each of them.
Tell about the functions of each system.
Ex. The skeletal system provides movement, protection, and the framework for the body.
Give examples of organs that pertain to each system if any.
Ex. Skeletal system - since there are no organs, you can give examples of important bones like the cranium to protect the brain, ribs to protect the heart and lungs, etc.
Include a media for each system.
It could be a video segment (not longer than 5 min), image, interactive, song, game.
Give at least 2 interesting facts you learned about it.
Ex. Respiratory System -

Ex. Respiratory System -
- The lungs are the only organs that can float in water. Each of your lungs contains about 300 million balloon-like structures called alveoli, which replace the carbon-dioxide waste in your blood with oxygen. When these structures are filled with air, the lungs become the only organs in the human body that can float on water.
- If all the alveoli in both lungs were flattened out, they would have a total area of about 160 square meters – about 80% of the size of a singles tennis court.
